Watershed Status – ISA Environmental Programs & Services

Some Iowa watersheds are farther along the water improvement process, having already completed a watershed plan and received project funding and grants. Like a ripple in the water, these watersheds can affect and inform other connecting watersheds around them. Leaders and residents in these watersheds are positioned to build on success by diffusing outreach and implementation into nearby watersheds.

Watershed projects were assessed through a survey and interviews with watershed project coordinators. Details are included on the Methodology page. Participating watersheds are displayed on the Watershed Map page.

Responses were synthesized into six categories to illustrate current strengths and areas for future growth within each project:

The relative status of each category is shown below for individual watersheds. The results are specific to each project and should not be compared across watersheds.
